@xTerras: Spore1202 might be right actually, because it would be pointless to impress a diferent species just to heal at their nest (which you could do at your own). Also many creatures inn real life have multi-specie herd, such as zebras and wildebeest.

@Spore1202: I don't think so, but you can become friendly with a species and be able to use their nests to heal up. but in order to get a whole species to become friendly, you have to "impress" a bunch of them. But I'm pretty sure you can only add members of your own species to your pack. Wouldn't make much sense.
