OGN: Left4Dead 2
Left4Dead 2 is an action-packed multiplayer and singleplayer shoot-em-up set in an Apocalyptic Pandemic gamesteyle. Your missions is to get from point A to point B - alive.
The first Left4Dead was released last year, November 18 2008. Left4Dead was critically acclaimed for it's inguinitive team-based gameplay. If you didn't work as a team, you would wind up dead before too long.
Also, the game featured a "Director" system, which is where the game would randomly generate content in the level as you go along, such as, how many zombies in one area, what type of items and weaponry can be found.
All of this is expected to be in Left4Dead 2, which has mixed feelings about. Some people believe the game is going to be released far too soon, which is only a year after its predecessor; that being, November 2009.
Nethertheless, the game looks promising, boasting a whole new Melee weapons system, from Baseball bats to Chainsaw aswell as improved game features. For example, the witch will wander around during daytime rather than being in a single position as in the first Left4Dead, or, zombies wearing riot gear, forcing players to have to fire around the bullet-proof shield.
As for my own thoughts on Left4Dead 2, I'm on the fence. It may be too soon and under-developed, rushed just to get it on the shelves, cutting back on important components, Character development or bug-proofing.
On the other hand, I look forward to the Melee Weapons and more interesting zombies than featured in the first.
On a final note, I found a little something some of you might be interested in; Left4Dead 2 Achievements. I'm very interested in trying out the Clownd one. The achievements point out a few of the game's features, such as "Jockey" zombie, "Scavenge" mode, "Charger" zombie and "Bile Vial".
