Galactic Adventures Video / Interview

Written on: January 28, 2009 by xDreamache

Here's a video / interview with the spore development team that will give you a good look of what exactly Galactic Adventures is.  It also shows a decent amount of in-game footage of the upcoming expansion pack.  It's releasing this spring.  Here's the link...

I agree with Mystify on many levels. My understanding of Spore, even before it was released, was that the beauty of this game was with the unique engine that it provides. This is a concept that is thoroughly expandable - both vertically and horizontally. The original release was hopefully just a framework for a future multitude of expansions. Of course they are trying to capitalize financially - welcome to capitalism, folks. But if you haven't noticed; check out EA's financials sometime. They're not exactly making a lot of money. In fact, they're in as much trouble as the rest of us. The fact that they have a whole team of programmers listening to users sugegstions is awesome, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next - regardless of the price.

I will be buying this... When I reached space stage, this is exactly what I wanted to do. Now, I can use my creature and it will be awesome!

Do you have a link?

6. Jdunnington94 - Feb 22, 2009 12:19 AM

7. Davianti - Feb 20, 2009 10:42 PM

Man I really hope they don't screw this one up.

This expansion, looks really cool. I mean it does. However, so did Spore. Spore was a fun game. However it got old, quickly. The game is so repetitive and short. Which you don't find a lot. Perhaps it will be like Spore. Mabye it won't, but knowing EA, it will.

I did not give up on you guys i just havent commented, so don't say something you don't truely know!!

14. Jdunnington94 - Feb 12, 2009 09:15 PM

if there's one thing we don't need, its another lucky. don't give up on us yet. p.s. just found a pretty cool new video that I think highlights some more options that galactic adventures provides. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1T7sew9QWY&eurl=http://spore.wikia.com/wiki/Spore_Galactic_Adventures

teh guest, I already said I was sorry for what turned into a stupid argument between me and lad. go back a couple of posts, and you'll see that; I think that this stupid bitchfight was partly my fault, and I said I'm done...don't know if lad is but I'm looking forward to using the discussion board for discussion.

16. Teh Guest - Feb 11, 2009 11:29 PM

I think the comment community has died. Guess this is what it feels like when you founder a new community, and it gets annihilated by multi bitching. Maybe i am wrong, maybe each news article is a community in itself, and the original one founded on a unified hatred of lucky, who is no more, is the one that i belong? Meaning that within this article is just a small battle ground, where people are now looking at eachother, striving to find a new replacement for lucky, a new source to bring the nomads together? After some heavy thinking (not really) the only conclusion is in order for one of these unique communities to survive, it must have a sturdy and steady source of trollbait. Either way, i believe they're all coming to an end, leaving only a near deserted ground, where the occasional passer-bys get into futile arguments

17. lad16 - Feb 11, 2009 01:50 PM

Wow, your so cool, aren't you. You definitely won the argument by swearing and saying that I should fuck myself. That most certainly doesn't make you look like an immature, uneducated, jackass. Just because Spore was less than what most of us expected it to be, I'm still a fan of it. And if you wanted to see stupid arguments, you should read your own posts

18. Jdunnington94 - Feb 11, 2009 12:08 AM

Look, I'm tired of this. You're filling up this comments page with your stupid arguments. If anyone wants to have a serious discussion about spore or galactic adventures, feel free. Lad, go fuck yourself. That's all.

19. Jdunnington94 - Feb 10, 2009 11:59 PM

what the FUCK are you doing on a spore FAN site if you're not a spore FAN

20. lad16 - Feb 10, 2009 09:47 PM

Oh, sorry for "shitting" on your "ideas". In hindsight, don't you think that: "This will provide all the endless, deep gameplay even the most hardcore gamer could ever want" was a bit of an overstatement? Your just a spore fanboy who will cry if anyone says anything negative about it. And i didn't "shit" on your ideas because: 1. You didn't state any "ideas", and 2. It's a French philosophy called skepticism. Look it up...

21. Jdunnington94 - Feb 10, 2009 06:59 PM

And why are you arguing with a mentally handicapped 12-year old? Who does that?

22. Jdunnington94 - Feb 10, 2009 06:23 PM

Look, I'm sorry for cussing, but really? from the get-go you shit on my ideas and didn't even attempt to figure out what I was saying

23. Not-Draco18s - Feb 10, 2009 02:54 PM

This is going to fix Spore? Really? This new editor of "zomg quest time!" (in which all of the quests are extremely formulaic consisting of 5 objectives with 5 subobjectives and the AI can only spout a piece of pre-written material--none of that awesome conversation logic we've seen in older games like Wizardry 8 (that's 2001 people, sure it was just HELLS TON of pre-written material, but it was all voice acted too and you could type your own questions, though the AI wasn't always smart enough to know what you meant)).

24. lad16 - Feb 10, 2009 01:55 PM

Oh yes, and @ jdunningfag - it's comments like "why are you such a little bitch?" and "he didn't give galactic adventures a fucking chance, fucktard" that make me honestly believe that I'm arguing with a mentally handicapped 12yr old.

25. lad16 - Feb 10, 2009 01:51 PM

On the topic of GA, I think that the editor will be fairly creative (somewhere between a warcraft 3 and a lot less than a lbp), but it won't improve the game as much as jdunnington is preaching. I'm sure that there will be a couple of cool missions, but it will eventually just turn into the space stage: "planet x is being raided, planet y is having an ecosystem collapse, and planet z has some creatures that your supposed to take for a quest"
