Well that makes me a New Age Fool then.

I was commenting on the article you linked to.

The problem is, we were expecting a "game" with actual gameplay. It seems that in a desperate attempt to hold on to their fanbase, they sugar-coated the conversion to a casual game. That's why sales were so high; everyone bought it not knowing they were not getting what they thought they were. And all I did was answer someone's question, thank you very much.

The problem is we where expecting the science-y spore.

Chris Hecker's motivation for the game was that it would be too complex and science-y for the average moron or ''casual gamer''. Quite frankly, that kind of thought disgusts me. People may not give us much reason to believe in them, but come on! I actually think Spore switched priorities some months before release. Hecker went to Will expressing his concerns, and he was inclined to agree. It's unfortunate, but the newer version really isn't THAT bad. It doesn't meet the monumental expectations we were told to hope for, but it's still an ok game. It's often said that reality almost never meets our expectations.

Do you know why they cut the aquatic phase? or what level of development it was at when they showed it? Unless you know their reasons, how can you say they where incorrect? All you can do is make baseless assertions.

mystify, they had the flora creator and the aquatics before the game came out then they got rid of it, they should have had it in the game instead of putting it in the expansion

Hey, i thought their were 3 others, spore creature keeper (spore version of sims in my opinion), spore: hero for wii and spore: Hero arena for ds, what happened to them, and thanks for sthe stuff lucky ^^

two comments: one, i think this will be an interesting expansion but guess it's just another way to make some dough. well many games do that anyways... 2nd.. guys (and gals if here), does it really matter with the smart comments to lucky? If a person isn't flooding the post with swearing and spamming with unrelated information spore (basically ads, porn), then just let it be. it's not hurting anyone with the few posts. What do the rules say on posting anyways? Guess I need a refresher now too...

I laugh at Lucky's posts. Like a "Are you completely oblivious" laugh. And then he is not going to understand this post, and I will laugh again. But I'm done with Lucky, he's a lost cause...

You would have complained all those 6 months, and no, it wouldn't have been in the game, since it is the result of player feedback.

well before the game came out we didnt know what it would be like, yes there are videos of it, but you cant tell if its going to get boring after a while from watching videos. this should have been in the game and I would have rather waited another 6 months for the game then

To all who are saying this should have been in the original game: Consider this: before spore came out, all people were doing was complaining about how long it took to come out. If they had this in, it would have taken anoher 6 months to a year for it to come out. Also, this expansion is a result from user feedback on the game. On the Spore forums, they asked what people wanted to see in the expansion. Releasing expansion packs allows them to respond to the players wants. You sit here and complain about spore, and when they take steps to improve the experience, you complain about that to. Don't sit here and say what they should or should not have done without thinking about it first.

lucky, I dont have a problem with you posting news here, I just said that because it seemed that everyone else did and/or still does, just trying to save you the trouble if someone decides to argue with you again, maybe you could contact support or something to get it fixed.... and this new expansion I'm curious about, will probably wait at least 2 weeks before deciding to get it... but yes it does come down to cost, probably the best way to get it would be to have everyone not buy it then they will lower the price and then we buy it, cause it should have been in the actual game in the first place

Perhaps this will reduce the suck factor of spore slightly

IGN say it will come out March 17th while gamespot says March 31st. I might pick this up, depending on the cost.

ok, lucky, i read the first article, well half of it, and it does give some good information about the new expansion... but this is not the point of this post, did you not learn anything from what everyone else said? i suggest contacting support or just make a new username to post in the forums rather than just fighting with people which posting news on here will probably just create again, another war... just a few words of advice....
