EA to Allow De-Authorizing a Machine?

In an article from IGN, it mentions that an EA spokesperson states of a Spore patch that will allow you to de-authorize accounts from computer to computer. This would ultimately mean more installs than just the 3 computers. This patch should be coming in the near future, there is no set release date for it.
Here are some statistics provided in the article:
Total activations: 437138- Users activating on only 1 machine: 86%
- Users activating on more than 1 machine: 14%
- User trying to activate on more than 3 machines: 0.4%

most humans are hoarders by nature. we know we have a limited supply on something so we are less willing to use it up. which in part explains why so few people are installing it on multiple computers. i for one was originally gonna let my sis have it on her PC till i heard of the 3-install limit

well with reinstalls for one. if there are others like me (which I didn't think I'd be in this boat) I've already installed it but the game is slow and I cannot use all the high (and medium) settings. so I get terrible graphics and plan to buy a computer (or if someone has a desktop, better parts). That's going to mean a 2nd install for me.

maybe I'm doing this wrong (I'm using a crappy calculator) but .4% of 437138 seems to be a decimal. Oh, wait, that's total activations, not total users. Just forget this. I suck at math.

I don't understand it. The game has been out for what, less than a month? Who are all these people re-installing the game over and over? And for what purpose?

Well that's good, they realize the stupid mistake they made.

Fluffy, the worst that could happen is it wouldn't work and you'd be like "Oh, that's right, need to de-auth first"

That would be a good idea... You'd have to remember to de-authorize the game before upgrading, etc...
