Spore Asymmetry Modification!

Written on: September 17, 2008 by xDreamache

Don't you hate it when you go to create a creature, and everything is mirrored unless you place it down the center of a creature? Well this modification fixes that. Now you can create 100% true asymmetrical creatures *and* it works in all of the other editors.

The modification was found at spore.vg (There are a couple of other modifications there as well).

1. Download the asymmetry mod here. (We've hosted it here in order not to run up Rick's bandwidth!)
2. Place the file inside of your Data directory found in the Spore installation directory. You will see other .package files there, that's where this goes.
3. You're done!

NVM lol I guess I shouldve visited the guys site where it states all editors are modded. Nice, going to work on my vehicles now.

Does this work for vehicles as well or do we need to wait for another mod, got a nice wiimote ship and Tron tank that need so asymmetric work done to them, would be nice, keep bringin on the mods. I wonder how hard putting the blood back in the game would be.

Omg...IT'S ALIVE!

It works with the Patch, however since i am unable to figure out how to "force" symmetry (if its possible with this mod installed) and since parts cost the same with or without symmetry, i found myself unable to create a 2 legged creature. I was left with only enough DNA points for one. If anyone knows hour to "force" symmetry for certain instances, let me know. If its not possible, then the original mod creator has something to better himself with. With a toggle to force symmetry, this mod would be perfect. Or have parts cost half as much.

Does this work with the new patch???

Someone forgot to tell his mother that she's not supposed to swim in the radioactive waste.

that creature looks like it hates itself

actualy beauty is mesured in your sub-conscious as how much testosterone a male has and a females ability to bear children. this is done by looking at a mans face, and a womans figure

Haha, funny video!

This is good for making cool stuff, although everything made with this mod limps and eyes are backwards.

There is a reason things are symmetrical....A REASON!

12. Magiduck - Sep 17, 2008 03:05 PM

that poor, poor creature...beauty is measured in how symmetrical your face is by the way

Erm, how do you, you know, work it? The cell editor doesn't seem to be in any way changed.

14. xKarma - Sep 17, 2008 02:12 PM

This is pretty damn awesome.

Sharing these creatures mostly works. If you push the complexity meter to its max you will probably get the "Deleted from server" error, but if you don't go overboard with it they should upload.

16. jam78ilc - Sep 17, 2008 10:00 AM

I dont think you can share, I tried and it will not upload, but the creature I made is awesome!!!

17. Fnukk - Sep 17, 2008 08:46 AM

How does this work with sharing, can you still share creatures, buildings etc.?

18. built2spill - Sep 17, 2008 08:29 AM

He looks like he's in pain. Maybe a video of showing the edits would be more helpful.

19. pizzaman - Sep 17, 2008 08:21 AM

thats cool!

20. Nosferatu - Sep 17, 2008 03:04 AM

i think this is a great mod, sure, the creature in the vid is just.. wrong... but it wasn't supposed to be looking good, it was suposed to be a-symatical, they succeeded in that

21. xDreamache - Sep 17, 2008 03:03 AM

yeah by removing the .package file from the data folder.

22. Nibwoddle - Sep 17, 2008 02:15 AM

Can it be turned on and off? I'm not downloading this until I know if you can.

23. minipwnerer - Sep 17, 2008 02:04 AM

That creature actually weirds me out a bit. Its just disturbing. That feeling is also probably helped by the funny back ground

24. xDreamache - Sep 17, 2008 12:34 AM

Uhm, there's a lot of asymmetry in it.. Just pay attention.

25. master of disaster - Sep 17, 2008 12:31 AM

Was that creature supposed to look symmetrical?
