Spore CC Beats Sims 2 and WoW
According to NPD's data for the week ending on June 21, the Spore Creature Creator took the top spot in sales. This is a GREAT sign for Maxis in regards to Spore's money making potential. If these sales are any indication, the full Spore game should be a MAJOR hit for the company and it's shareholders.

ENEMME, BC has been out for a very long time now. Wrath of the Lich King is not out yet. Different expansion. By the way, if the CC came out a little bit later it would've been beaten by Diablo II Battlechest (<- nr. 1 selling game since Diablo III's announcement).

To Enemme: I'm assuming this is the retail sales for THAT WEEK ONLY. There's also a huge difference between the two genres so I don't know why you brought WoW into this. Also BC (Burning Crusade) has been out. You can't compare a game that's been out since 2003 to another game that still a month away.

oops! i meant registered users not subscribers. Nope. Sims 2 is still the #1 best-selling video game of all time. GTA is #2. GTA has sold over 70 million copies. Sims 2 has sold over 100 million copies.

it's not surprising that Spore beat Sims 2 and WoW. those games are already old games. Most people are tired of Sims 2 and WoW by now. Spore is new, so it's obvious that people would rather buy Spore than Sims 2 or WoW. However, at present, Sims 2 still beats Spore as the #1 best-selling game of all time (100 million sold). And WoW still beats Spore for the most number of subscribers (10 million subscribers).

Not surprise ether. All interviews in the past and ADS videos etc! They spent lots of money on ADS and there been tons of videos over the years! Can't get better then 1! It might be game of the year before year is over! And "maybe go Gold" before it releases!
