Yes a kinda demo i hope the editor will be fun!Dang it not the real good demo but its something!

Actually, you do get ALL the parts you get in Spore. Here is a quote from the IGN interview : The free Creature Creator has about 25-percent of the creature making parts from Spore. The retail version will have 100-percent.

I'm not going to pay for the demo, because no where does it say you get 100% of the parts that you will get in the full game all it says is the free version has 25% of the parts of the paid version, so for all we know the paid version could only be 25% of the parts in the full game.

Go to amazon.com and search for "spore creature creator", it's listed at $9.99. Now I'll be the first to tell you that amazon.com is hardly a reputable source, at least when it comes to release dates, but this is what we have to go on for now.

There are no articles anywhere which say that the demo will be $10. This is an assumption made by Xspore. It could be more, it could be less.

Eighty fourth!! I'm wondering if this will have any other editor modes in it. I'd LOVE to be able to play with the building editor and the vehicle editor. It'd also be cool to play with the cell editor too (although I don't believe that cell content is distributed like it is for the 3D content).

There will be a free demo (which means not the full version) available to those of you who want to pay a measly $10 for the full editor. I kinda hope they do have premium parts for $30 or something. I could make my creature much more kick-ass while you sit around and whine, because I can afford it.

This is the Creature Creator. If you want a demo of it, they are releasing one free. If you want a real bargain, buy spore in september and get the creature creator full version free! Some people only want the creature creator to play with and dont even care about the gameplay within spore. this is a stand alone product that is featured in Spore. This is like buying a 3d art program for 10 little dollars. Again, get the free demo of the creature creator or pay for the full version. either way you get the whole version free for a game you want in september.

With EA anti-piracy in the state is is now I wouldn't be surprised if you could just play SPORE without anything more than a dvd-crack. Personally though i have too much respect for Will (NOT for EA!!!) to pirate this one, i will buy the full version. As for the CC, i'll check out the free one first.

I won't mind getting the full because you know that they will be building new body parts all the time and uploading them, at least i asume they will. i just do see how they can keep a fix amount of body parts and create new ones constantly

To me then charging 10 dollars for the demo is a bigger let down than anything else including the push backs of the release date. No way am I going to foul up my first time playing spore witha demo with 25% of the parts. I refuse to do part of EA's job if I also have to pay for the privilage. If they want me to do part of there job I am up for it but no way am I paying to do it.

Just a fraction of what was spent in production. Will said back at the nasa showing the game was way over the normal budget for what video games usually take to create. I hope they make expansions for money too. I will probably want to see a Spore part 2. So let them make back what was spent and then some.

The thins is clearly stated at that interview" there will be a FREE version through DOWNLOAD AND THE SIMCIT BOX. Also a FULL RETAIL VERSION". simcitybox = 25%, burn $10 = 100%. Even that thing writen her eon xspore clearly says "simcity box = free version". SO yes, go learn how to read things.

nosporeinname- Yes, the game will come with a disk full of creatures, but where do you think the creatures will come from? Why pay a team at Maxis make thousands of creatures when you have a huge fanbase willing to PAY for the priviledge? I agree that advertising is part of it, but it will be used to populate the initial universe.

I'm paying for the full version. I can afford to drop $10 to give me something to waste time on before the full version comes out. As far as a date, I can't find a release date for the Simcity Box anywhere, but I did find that it'll cost around $40.

@Jon Ace - I don't think that EA will go THAT far for only 10$! They didn't even do server-side authentication for full games.

I plan to get the 10$ one which will probably cost me a little more but I don't mind.

People, EA isn't releasing the demo in order to populate the universe. There will be tons of content already on the game disk, so that you can play offline. The demo is being released for the same reason demos are released: advertising, and giving the fan base something to play with so they don't go crazy. I know I've been itching to play with the editor, especially when watching videos of people playing with it and then not doing what I think they should do...

@liorg - You forgot about server-side authentication... As for the release date, I'll guess around the 23rd of June.

I will try the free version, but if it is not enjoyable enough, I will play.

Yess! I am so excited! I thought it would be July when it would be released.. I'm so happy it's earlier than I expected.. I don't know if I want to get the free 25% Editor so I will be surprised of all the knew things Sept 7th.. or the $10 100% Editor.. Hmm! >_<

honestly? I dont think I like the idea of being able to create creatures without having the game yet. I think Ill be frustrated that I wont be able to play with my creature... and also, I think it takes away a lot of the fun of buying the full game when it comes out. Since we will already have tried out a part of the game that is quite big... I dont think I'll neither buy or download the CC. I guess I'll be far behind when the game finally comes, but that way, the first time I play the game will be far more esciting than for the people who tried out the CC in june. Anyone agree?

I don't think i'm going to "pre-make" my creature. i think i'll start from cell and evolve into whatever it ends up to be. no set plan. seems more fun that way. But i plan on using that free editor a lot. lol.

Should you not get the spore creature demo the full one if you have pre ordered the game and kept that pre order for over a year?

You should get a discount on the Spore game if you buy the creature editor early.

avmf8 technically it's not a demo. The primary reason they're releasing the creature creature before the game is out of necessity. Imagine otherwise, you buy the game the day it releases, enter the universe and guess what, your universe is EMPTY. They're doing this to create a good cache of creatures, ready to go the day it releases.

I am not going to pay 10 bucks for a fucking demo.

EA: Milker of series. One dime at a time. Of course... I'll be more than likely to buy the full version. I'd eve nbe MORE inclined to buy it if it came with a pre-order... (That would make it $49.99 for the CC, but you get a pre-order as well)

There will be a free verison at spore.com. Then a 10 dollar one sold in stores. The free one has 25% of the parts. The retail as 100%.
