I agree that we should be able to view the forum. I hardly ever post, but I love reading the discussions. Just my 2 cents.

I'll third the motion to make it viewable by all - been a long time lurker, and generally don't write in threads unless i can contribute with something(which I rarely can hence my low postcount :P) - I understand the reason to make a 1337 forum(yeah i went there) to enable undisturbed discussion without having to swing the banhammer daily - why we can't lurk though, I can't really see any reason for, other than having your own little private treehouse, which is just meh(if that's the case then there's no reason to make it public anyway) - oh well hope you make the sensible choice and make it public, if it isn't it can only damage the site.

Riotrunner I agree with you so the VIP forum is now viewable by everyone.. but only those with VIP status can post threads / replies.

I enjoy reading the forums here, but rarely post, and I think you would be isolating a good deal of the xspore community by ensuring that only "VIP"s could access the majority of thoughtful discussions. New members would have to spend large amounts of time in the regular forums before gaining access to the VIP ones, and if the intellegent posters all gathered in the VIP forum, then new members would likely be put off by the "Spammers and immature annoying people". Long story short, this new forum system could be a problem if VIP members begin to neglect the regular forums.

Well seeing as I'm just a few days new here, I'm guessing it's probably too soon to be asking for VIP status. :p I'll prove my maturity in time.
