Anyone else get their PC Gamer today? I have and Spore is on the cover! As one of the top 8 games of 08'. Not much of a release date, but says spring 08. I'm guessing we will get alot of info in the weeks to come and a demo, as long as spring IS the release date.

Okay, guys. I sent them an email, and here's April's response: "After the new year, we'll be heating things up again and I'd be happy to add you to our press release list if you'd like." I was representing a different website, as I'm not a frequent member here, but that should sum it up for you. Expect new information after the new year.

To be honest, EA is not busy. They may be "busy" in the sense that they have work, but the people who are making SPORE are NOT the people feeding us and the general public information. Do they care? No. But if we continue to bug them, they might just give in on the premise that we shut up. They might not want to sell their game "only to us", but the truth is we ARE a news site and we ARE one of the top hits on Google when you search "Spore". If they want people to hear NEWS about the game and get people EXCITED, they'd do well to release information to the sites people visit. Like this one.

EA doesn't want to sell this game to a small dedicated fan base. They want to sell it to every little kid living in a first world country. Don't bother begging for anything because their existing fan base is probably a very small demographic.

This is a useless tactic that will just get them to hate us.

Spore may come out December 12. If it is not out then, the demo should be out by then.

just because we are the biggest fan site doesnt mean we should have EA take the time out to give us info. EA is bussy leave them alone lol

what makes u think they have a specific release date? the date their aiming for is the general one the've already released, game relaeases are sketchy for any game

I would think the only thing we need to know is 1. When is the demo coming out 2. Exact release date of Spore, maybe what they meant by not important is its not as important to tell us how far allong the game is compared to oh say... getting the game done? but then again EA=BASTARDS so i wouldnt put it past them that there being just that... bastards

why do we asume they are with holding info, maybe there is just nothing new to report. we have a pretty good idea of how the game works already. what do we want to know about that they havent told us?

To be honest, I can't see any reason as to why they should comply. They would rather generate new interest in the game- I assume most of us will buy the game - a new video won't change this. But sure, it'd be great.

That is true, but if EA is acting like we aren't important at all, then we still need to demand some respect. They are giving the big websites info about Spore, and then those websites aren't even using it. We are completely dedicated to Spore while they only care about the big games like Crysis and Harry Potter. We should still get just as much info as those other people, if not more. I usually dedicate half of my weekend to Spore related things. So, we should tell EA what we want, because if we don't nothing will change.

Unfortunatly i kinda have to agree with EA although we are the biggest spore site on the internet were not even nearly close to thoes big gaming websites like gamespot and fileplanet, for them to waste who evers time so our website can have that exclusive interview or exclusive videos would cost them money in their marketing budget (they still ahve to pay the guy to be in the interview or w/e) I'd rarther they spent that money on getting the game into the shops. Were a fan site not a marketing tool for them. Thus i believe the above wont help. Sorry guys, just an opinion

I don't really support this. Asking Will Wright to give an interview was all right, but this is just spamming, and why would we try to force them to give us information when we want??? They are the professional game publishers, not we, probably their ways are more efficient than ours. ;) Of course I would love to see new videos, and play with a demo right here and right now, but if finally it would make Spore less successful, I don't want it.

I posted Hey people from EA, Recently we heard that you guys think that the xspore fanbase is not important. Let me tell you differently. We are the most loyal spore fans you will ever find around the globe. We got forums where people make there own spore games(forum based) and someone who makes his own 3d video's about spore!! people are putting so much effort in it. We from xspore would like to get more information and a demo if there is one,there has been a period of zero information and no fan site likes that. Yours sincerely, Leo smits any good to us? =)

I have written to ea before, but i will do so again because that was about 2 months ago. People please be polite and respectful in your emails, otherwise they will be less likely to respond.
