Spore Design Contests
The pace of creation has been picking up on the wallpaper design contest forum and it has become abundantly clear that there are creative people lurking at the xSpore forums. Now is the time to kick off the battle of creativity and design. For the winners there will be prizes – for the rest of us, there will be great Spore related wallpapers and creature designs. For all of us, this is a great way to pass time while we wait for Spore to hit the shelves.
Get your creative juices flowing and start producing and submitting your entries to the appropriate forums! Take one look at the current wallpaper entries and creature descriptions and you'll realize quickly that to stand out will be no easy feat.
Wallpapers: Wallpaper entries must be Spore related – and so may be any number of different things ranging from planets, to creatures, to landscapes, to galaxies. Spore is very open-ended – the sky isn't even the limit – so be creative! NOTE: We ask that all entries are 1024x768.
Creature Design: This is a bit of a miscellaneous category in that submissions may be any art form medium that is able to express a unique creature design. Feel free to scan hand drawn designs, write descriptive paragraphs, use 3d graphics editors – whatever it takes to get your creatures being across better than other people are able to.
Here's how it works: Formerly, we had used a polling system. This quickly became a problem as cheating was prevelant so xSpore.com employees now judge the conest. The entry that wins one particular month will be deemed “Untouchable.” The entries that fail to win for a particular month will be eligible to enter in any available future polls. Monthly polling will continue until roughly one month from the official release date of Spore. This final month will be reserved for a battle of the “Untouchables” and will pit every month winning entry against the others to determine the “Grand Champion!”
Prizes: Yet to be determined. The prize will be Spore-related – be it a Collector's Edition of the game or fresh, new computer hardware to run it on. Expect the prize to be announced when more information about Spore's release is made available.

ever heard of "Tremors"? (it's a movie) the best place to hide is underground. my creature will live underground and its body mass will be mainly silicate (like the space slug in star wars), so it will feed off of sand and rocks. if you can eat rocks and sand, chances are you can easily devour any carbon-based organism. and it will grow to maximum length of 33 metres (more or less 100 ft) and will grow to 5 metres wide (about 15 ft) but will start its life as a 1 metre long, 30 cm wide worm like creature.

My creature will have a hyperdermic needle shaped nose coated in mucus which allows it to inject nitric acid into viperfish's slugs and dissolves them into a pulp which it sucks up. it will also move by a diamond frame with one leg at the front, two in the middle and one at the back, it will kick vipers ass. Do fishes have asses?
