Same concept as always but to make it a little more interesting this will now run untill spore is released and the best wallpaper chosen by the admins will be pitted against Treefrogs wallpaper in a public poll to decide who is the ultimate wallpaper designer.

so... what do you think. Its a little plain but i kind like it.

You may want to work on the background, erase some stars, add some glow, add some stars with less opacity etc etc.
For the Lazr - it's alright. You can add some sparks and secondary flashes to it.
For the planet - it's awesome! But the beams coming from inside are lots too spikey, you might want to add some gaussian blur.

other than that - its very nice!

I'd never thought of giving the background a bit of colour.
The planets are rather good as well. I like the way the light is picking out the texture in the terrain !

Its comming up to the end of the first month of 2008 and we've had some wonderfull creations, i'd jsut like to make a note of a special few:



I will however say i feel there are far too many space themes and not enough, tide pool, or tribal, or creature, or civilisation! Get to work on somthing different for feburary.
