no, they already said that space is the only place that blood is in the game. check the Q&A for the fan sites, its in there. but don't fear, if i know maxis like i think i do they would have programed it in the game in one way or another. it will just take a fairly skilled coder to find it a post on the net how to turn it back on.

Why would it only be in for space phase? Most blood would be seen in creature/tribe and civ phases I would think. Considering lasers theoretically would cauterize flesh and leave a burn that wouldn't allow blood to spurt out, and it seems most UFO weapons are laser based.

Lets not forget this game is made for kids also, and they will probably get to the creature and tribe phases easily, so it will be the ones they concentrait on the most. In space you arent really concentraiting on how bloody it is anyways, unless your older of course and you want to see limbs fly :P

your correct, i don't really know why they made it this way. the only thing i can guess would be so you can easily tell who is dead and who is not. but that is a lame guess.

Even so, it's only blood, and there's not much of it anyway. It's such a small detail.

It is aimed at 12+. So when people are going on about it being aimed for young kids remember that it is aimed at 12+ and im sure a 12 year old kid could deal with a bit of animated blood in creature phase. I mean, Casualty (UK) has loads of blood and im sure Jerry Springer has its fair share. Maxis just didn't put it in becasue they do not like it. Bradshaw said it was only it because it would of looked wierd without it in space. In my opinion the only reason maxis didn't include blood in creature is that your camera is very near the creature and they just don't like it. Anyway, it will be modded eventually!!
