Spore

I haven't downloaded the patch yet, and I was wondering if it was worth it. Right now spore is working fine. The only problem I have is that sometimes it crashes in the space stage. Is the patch worth it?

The patch allows you to play as one of your pre-made creatures by using a new cheat called 'evovantage'

There's the 'blocksmode' cheat (It's not really a cheat) that makes all of your creatures into blocks (You can go back to their normal appereance of course)

It fixes up some problems.

Better animations.

Hard difficulty is harder.

The creature phase is now better paced (meaning it doesn't drag on)

And it's free.

However, people HAVE reported taht their copy of Spore malfunctions a bit after donwloading the patch, but I have no problems with it.

What are these animations? I haven't noticed ANY yet since I got it.

And as for the "better paced", if you mean creature isn't as long, then sure... but I liked the long creature phase, it was my favorite one. Shorter game =/= better.

That dragon site wasn't very friendly starting up... apparently you need to go on the hour to get an egg.

You'll have to download it inevitably, so I think it's worth it.

Do Not. Download. The. Patch.

If you do, your creatures take about 1-10 minutes to appear when you find a new one, same goes for any on-scene graphics (Globes in level select, stars in space, etc).

Some people can't even play, and have had to reinstall Spore - i'v reinstalled 3 times now, so i'm fucked. Thanks *so* much, patch.
