And the program is for those that want a free image editor, without using thepiratebay! The reason I linked to the program was because xDreamcache decided to mention photoshop which is a very expensive program if you pay for the license! It has a price tag around 300$ for a private user. So since the admin of the site decided to mention an expensive program, which most people entering probably haven't paid for, why not mention a free alternative?

And guess what I use firefox 2 on a linux machine.

And for your information, if you zoom in on the picture, you will notice that the smudge tool have been applied to the edge of WW and the magic wand have been used to cut away the rest of the original picture which you can find here: http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog...ight_spore.jpg

Again, the magic wand was applied to remove the black areas and make them transparent. The planet was scaled down using a built in tool.

The stars were made using the spray tool.

oh and guess what i used the layer tool to move will, the planet and the stars around until they ended up where i wanted them

Get your facts straight!!! I don't care whether you have 1 or 1000 posts but don't belittle my work, when I have put some time and effort into it.

And by the way, "mister I decide what a person trying to help others should do" My entry was made so people without the knowledge of GIMP's existence would have a alternative to either buying a expensive program, or downloading a pirated copy!

As for your image... Smudge Tools and Magic Wands are not very advanced either...
And you make a good point: Your image is clearly not very original.

well, if you think my post is spammy its up to you, if you think my entry is not very original or creative guess what, I don't care.

what i do care about is a person with so many posts dismissing an entry clearly valid. As far as finding your post funny, I don't. But maybe thats because your making fun on my expense. But guess what, making fun on others expense does not count in my book as making fun at all.

As far as the tools used not being very advanced you are correct, but since you decide to imply that my image was made in paint, I decide to let you know exactly what I did.
I'm not a very experienced graphic artist, but I use the tools I can. You belittling my entry is actually quite funny since its quite on par with most of the others.


if you wnat to know what GIMP is and what it can do, why don't you try it.

Thnx, Normally I do have a sense of humor, but since its late and I just spent an hour finding pictures cutting, removing edges, creating layers, moving layers around and merging. I was not in the mood to have my work commented as basic and made in paint.

Since this misunderstand has been cleared up, im going to sleep... night

You spent an hour creating that image? No offense (seriously) , but you shouldn't have spent that much time on an image like that.

no offense taken, but most of the time was actually spent on the surfing part, plus I'm still pretty new to program I used, and besides that I was pretty tired... It may have taken a bit longer than it should, but since it was like the third time i actually used gimp(have used gimpshop, photoshop and psp before, naturally some time was spent figuring out how to tweak the tools...

you should just give me the prize now, because I'm going to win.
