Anyway while I wait for my money to come in the post. This is the first time that EA (<<< the company that publishes it) has Officially said it will be released. And EA are a model of efficiency and commercialism. So even though they're evil they are on time most of the time.........

I don't believe EA ever put out any other release date other then 9/07/08. I'm pretty sure all the others were poorly based guess work. I don't know for sure because in 06 I knew it was going to be a long time and I didn't want to torture myself with rumors.

I only ever saw one release date that was coming directly from EA, but I had plenty of chances to miss one I guess.

Yeah Dr Kilroy although waiting has been a pain at least hopefully the delays have paid off and they have added some stuff which means we are in for some pelasant surprises as we play.

I have actually been looking at the tidal and civ phases on gametrailers and trailers I havent seen and the thing is they show things being done that I wasnt aware you could do which is great. They did have to dumb down graphics so all the delays havent meant good things but it would have been a site worse if they had rushed it out the door I agree, My only issue is they really shouldnt have speculated on release dates at all which memebers of EA were doing for a while, even though they werent official they should have just said look there is no official date period at this time.

Looking at the stuff on gametrailers last night well what worries me about the reviews but could be good in another way is say a reviewer spends like 1 or 2 hours on Spore and reviews it, they say its shallow or whatever but unless its extremely bad from the outset which I dont think it is then I dont see how you can effectivly review it without at least spending a while on each of the stages and designing creatures + spending some time exploring and really making sure you see all aspects the game has to offer and I dont think that can be done at this time so I really think corporate reviews need to get a copy and play the game for at least 2 weeks

It's being released on a friday here in Europe. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's available the 4th here and there.. Anyway, it's gone gold, and the official release date is set. If you can't find it in the stores then, it isn't really EA's fault. There could be problems with shipping or the shops may just be idiots. There are plenty of shops that already have Spore lying around 'in the back'.

That's an extreme.. Warcraft 3, or any other Blizzard game for that matter, has been delayed multiple times. In fact, when Warcraft 3 was two years into development, they decided they wanted to go with something completely different. They simply threw everything they had away and started from scratch. It was a good decision though, but still, it's not nice for us fans.

The store already have the game, the place I bought it from is actually sending them out tomorrow, in OZ that is but seriously, close this thread.

I want to go to where you are buying. Heck, I want to work where you got that. Just, so, you know, I can oversee, the distribution, and do, like, quality control.
