In the response we received from April, she mentions:



this is probably just looking into it *too much* - but she said both "mid" (ie: the macworld expo, which occured at exactly "mid" january) and as well as "late" - It's not really what I would consider to be "late" january just yet, being the 22nd - but with the 2nd sentence "Around that time frame we'll be able to confirm a release date" - well, she's specifying the "mid-to-late" january timeframe as being the timeframe in which a release date will be confirmed...

So now that we know that the information they intended on releasing during mid-january was the Mac announcement, then we know that they intend (at least at the time she sent us the reply) to announce the release date at the *end* of january.

1 week and we *should* get it - though personally I see only about a 30% chance of that happening, given their track record and the strong possibility that I'm just looking into it too much.

Hmm... I wonder if your looking into this too much?

Late January started on the 20th at 4:00 (dividing it January into 3 parts, beginning,mid, and late.)

We should have it, but they have had screwed up timeframes in the past.

Mid is always 15th 15/2 = 7.5 so late is 22nd/23rd onwards early is the 7/8th beginning is 1st and end is 31st

I have not even looked into it at all I came on to see if one time they would make good on what they say. So far nothing and I think at the end of January the only info that is going to be given is another release date push back. Like I have stated I do not see spore coming out in 2008 at all. Latest I think though will be mid 2009 any longer than that is insane.

Just be patient, all this waiting for a date to wait for is pretty crazy if you ask me.

Just because you may consider it late january already doesn't mean EA does...and even if they do who said they'd let us know "the more" information as SOON as it was in the late january time frame?...they have until the 31st to keep with there word.....which really has already been fullfilled with the Mac info release. Cause they said they could tell us a release date around that time frame but nothing in what she said really holds them to actually promising they will 100%.

To think that the game will be pushed back to 2009, avmf8. You really under estimate the time span of a year. cause its a LONG time. even more so for a game that looks like it could ship right now. Aside from probably trying to get as many bugs out as possible trying to break the game in more ways then your going to be able to so that you can do whatever your heart desires once you get the game. I've also personally stated before i think the main set backs right now, with the game pretty much golden, is the fine tuning of the content loader system. Making sure there is a filter for content that is suitable for the age range of the game. Don't need giant vagina buildings and dick monsters appearing on the first planet little timmy decides to visit with his brand new UFO!

Well to me the mac info is not news at all. They said since 2006 multiple platforms. Well Mac is a platform. When I first heard multi platform I just figured that meant mac as well. I know a year is a long time so is 2 years. That is the amount of time I knew about this game. It was supposed to be out in 2006 its now 2008 and still not even a word on what time this year it will be out. I can see them giving a possible release date but I don't see then giving definate release date info. Don't make me have to find the video on you tube of Will saying it will be out in 2007.

I can see again them saying it will be released in 2008 just for it ending up being 2009. I think the reason for the delay is they fixed all the isues it was working but decided the graphics were outdated so they decided to upgrade that only to cause more issues they now have to fix. So I think to be honest it was a working game with the old way it looked. But I think they wanted it to look better so they upgraded it. Upgrading stuff takes time so I think that reason alone is the release date issue. Also I have heard that EA games is holding it back for buisness purposes. It could very well be 100% done and are holding it back until a time where it will make more money such as near christmas time in 2008. of course that one is speculation.

I am also concerned with how long it is taking since it can mean there is serious issues with the game. But if there is issues why can't EA games say that or say why the release date is pushed back. I think at this stage they can at least give a accurate release date. If not that means the game has some serious issues.

2009 fiscal year yes. actual 2009 no. And only way spore is going to have bad sales now is if it just doesn't come out. Its been discussed before. no matter how long they push the date back you will buy.

Yeah but what if someone gets a hold of the beta game and comes out with a bad review or some shit. Then some people that aren't hardcore fans like most of us will loose faith. If they have taken the time to fix all the bugs and make this a beautiful game then I will have no problems. But if its buggy or something is wrong with it I'm going to be pissed. If will fucks this up I'm done with him.
