I have decided to not swear. It doesnt suit me. And i think this website should have a swear filter. cuase, if you knew the kinda crap some people post....

Thanks for the suggestions. Just to let you know, it's hand crafted in the site rules that swearing is 100% ok. If you don't want to, that's fine.
As for the Spore stuff, that's up to the members to post the topics so that people like you can answer.

I personally don't mind people swearing as long as it is used for an effect, not used pointlessly and excessively. But I never, NEVER accept swearing that is racial or sexist in some way...

Why do people swear? Why has society deemed these words as "inappropriate"? What is the origin of swearing? Well to me, swearing is just a way to express extremes (cept for the "F" word) The only word I can see as a taboo is the F-Word for what it CAN mean. (trying not to harass the young minds here). When did society deem these words as bad. Damn means darn or dangit (or send if refering to hell). Is it okay to say dangit in public? Yes. Damn? No? OMFGWTFBBQ?!?!?! (lol sry) but it means the SAME thing, maybe just a bit more intense than just dang. Along with Ass. Can mean butt... or donkey. Sooooooooo? Why is that bad? Ass means butt... Now to bitch... this I can see as a bad word, along with bastard as well. Its meant to be derogatory to people but calling someone a bitch/bastard (in a non technical term) can pretty much be the same thing as saying wow what an idiot/moaner (what a little bitch)/ annoying person/etc. Going to skip over the F word except for the fact that Fuck (awwwwwwwwwww i said a bad word ) can be the same as damn to mean oh shoot (along with shit). Speaking of shit, it just means something stupid or fecal matter (fancy word for poop). Should that mean that stool should be deemed innapropriate for society because it means either a tall chair to poop? Damn society, with their fucking asshole lives. The Bastards/Bitches can be damned to eternity in hell (lawl)

Anyhow, swears depend on how they're used and what culture they're used in. Around my parts it's not uncommon to have idiots swear for punctuation so we take it less seriously as others would. There's also nothing better than screaming the worst words you know to vent stress. So I guess I view swearing as something that depends entirely upon the people listening.

Oh yeah, Fuck used to mean to plow (a field) in my area.

That is one of the best swear words known to man =P

Another thing, why are about half the swear words use 4 letters?

I really despise profanity; i can live with some of it here and there but it has polluted a lot of peoples articulate capabilities. I can live with a few F bombs here and some feces there but honestly they are extraneous words that are not needed and don't actually make sense when the sentence is put into literal meaning. There are other adjectives that would better fit the blank space to bring across the more logical meaning. (if profanity was a choice on an SAT, im sure everyone would bubble that answer to fill in the blank). What really bothers me though is the constant extension of the truth...or slander. For example, when people get upset, I constantly hear "you mother F***er" which makes no logical sense at all unless that was what the argument was about. The use of n**g* is also prevalent too, which bothers me because it is not necessary in any phrase. People even use it amongst friends, which doesnt make sense to me...because in my circle of friends we have nicknames, gestures or grunts that get each others attention.

I could go on and on about my problems with profanity but then I'd sound like I was telling more of a life problem that "I" have. The point i want to get across is that words that are designated as profanity should be seen as profanity and not be used in every darn sentence. (harsh i know but if i can get my feelings across without language that would upset my grandparents then everyone else should be able to also).
