Someone interested in Modding HL2?
Does anyone know a mod where you get to take part in the seven hour war?
If not; I'm so eager in making a mod since two years and this could be the perfect opportunity. I've got a story in my head already; it just needs to be written down, im working on the first map and the script already. AND NOW im asking you guys who would like to participate? We will need other weapons, cars and some more "not-map" stuff because we would have to simulate life on earth as we already know it. Anyways - is there even interest in that? Thanks for your time + for reading! ProudOne

I'm totally down for this. I don't have any of my DM work to show off, but I have taken up mapping for TF2. Currently running a little community here; TF2Maps.net I consider myself to be advanced in the mapping aspect, but know absolutely zero about scripting or modeling. pm me some outline of the story. I might be able to convince a couple friends from my site to make some minor scripts and/or models.

welll too the point where i can make it look like ingame content from hl2.
doors work and i can make elevators but anything wlse and i am stumped. i cant put objects in that are then freely moveable i.e place bottles around that you can break or pick up. (don't know how) nor can i make anything interactive (as in you cant move or break anything) sept doors and elevators. so in short not tooo briliant but i can do it and im learning. ![]() yeh so looking at it ImmortalD is a bit more to your needs

Here comes a bit that i've already finished and corrected
Map description The “apartments” – Maps are thought to look like modern, rather expensive and beautiful flats and houses being built in a nice neighbourhood with parks and places. Why this plays in Germany is obvious; In Germany we have both cultures collided, the eastern culture from hl2 and the western (USA) culture from hl1. That’s to point out the time of the seven hour war that happened “shortly after the black mesa incident because of the progressively appearing portals” Black screen, just showing: “Half-Life 2 – SIGMA Seven Hour” Fade out. Then a voice, while fading in “One hour left”: Gman: Well, Mr Freeman - you did extraordinary work (…) I have to admit that I can understand your (…) strife for knowledge... I will show you what happened while you were (…) waiting for orders... Map Fading in – sh1_apartments_1.bsp Camera is positioned in bed, directed upwards showing the ceiling only. Gman: I have taken the freedom to use the memories of a (…) american person who sadly did not survive the battles (…) I hope you understand that I cannot let you see all this by yourself. Also, don’t be confused by your surroundings, it was very difficult to find someone who fought and survived so long that I had to go to Berlin to find him. Also, from here you will have an excellent view over what happened shortly after the combine appeared in the sky… I will come back when the time has come (…) but I think you already were expecting that, weren’t you, Dr. Freeman? With an alarm clock’s beeping the camera pans up into the normal player’s view direction.

ok if the map is ment too look pretty/modern/clean cut then im not you man. im more of a post apocaliptic style mapper ie broken buildings and barred doors and stuff never really managed anything with a bit of "style". but then again most of the stuff that is in the models section and so for HL2 is for broken down cities so we may have to model new stuff and that'l need somebody who can model and i dont fit the picture.
still ill willingly help if i can but nice story i like the gman script sounds just like what youd expect him to say or so. sept for the second bit i think its got sentences with too few gaps for a gman speech needs more pauses. maybe a bit like this. Wow i had an idea like this a couple of months ago but i think it would be good
if the Story started like 3 Days before the 7 Hour War in the begin with portals opening up with Headcrabs and Antlions Pouring Through as the Army tries to make a Futile effort to stop it and then you lead Citzens out of the citys and one of those wierd Gman Moments were he says some thing and then 3 days passes and your back in the city under some collapsed rubble pushing out and just as the Humans push back 1000 of Combine Ships appear in the orbit and it begins from there but you now just an idea ![]()
