Modding Spore

This is very early, but I'm asking if anyone in this forum knows anything about modding for spore, or where mods could be found. I mean, it'd be really cool to have mods that enabled flying, or underwater, or just new aspects for stages...this thread is sort of just to draw attention to how cool spore could be with a few mods. If anyone has any concepts or ideas, or is actually able to mod, here is a place to throw them around.

I have some limited modding abilities but the only uses they have, Spore already gives you.

The ONE Mod i would actually play on Spore, is one that makes the game A LOT more difficult and makes the cell to space trip ALOT longer and more challenging. Not that i don't like the game but i WOULD like to feel challenged. I don't want my only challenges to be [spoiler] the [spoiler] and become [spoiler] [spoiler] earth.

to Melivannis,

1. Use correct grammar and check ur spelling, its annoying

2. Try to post intelligent replies an read previous posts, saying that the game has been out for a short period of time is very obvious, this has no real value in being posted as it doesn't impact at all on the topic of 'Ideas for Mods', also, instead of trying to pick apart the post, reply to it, notice that i didn't ask whether modders were actually modding the games, rather, if anyone had any ideas. Saying 'Modders are playing hte game themselves, when they will start thinking about moding it.' really isn't helpful

3. I thought it might be cool if there were a few 'part-packs' that allowed even more creativity in the editors, i really hate not being able to make my city hall look like my creature.

1. You'd have to be a bigger idiot than him to have not understood what he was saying, despite any grammar or spelling errors.

2. Why would you even complain about that? Yes, it's obvious, that's why he posted it. There aren't going to be any mods in the works yet. You didn't make it obvious that you knew this was the case, so he was merely trying to be helpful. He didn't "pick apart" your post either; he wasn't being hostile. My post would be "picking apart" your post, because it IS hostile.

Anyways, in response to the topic at hand, I want to see more simulation stuff added to the game. The creature phase is honestly a joke; someone needs to make it so species can actually leave the nest site and interact more directly, maybe make ambient plant life edible to herbivores. A real ecosystem. The cell stage is also the only stage were evolution is actually necessary; since the only free-roaming creatures in the creature stage are impossible to defend against no matter how many weapons you have, the only reason to evolve is for aesthetic purposes or to impress/kill neighbouring species (which isn't even required since you can still achieve this, albeit more slowly). There is no "survival of the fittest" or adaptive evolution at all.

The space stage is also kind of clumsy; there is excessive micromanagement that makes it repetitive and time-consuming to build your empire. I'd definitely use a mod that adds more automation to micromanagement (while still leaving the option to micromanage these areas if you want).

A completely new feature that I think would be cool would be parallel evolution; that is, creatures around you also evolve during the creature stage, so you might not even be the first species to enter the tribal stage. I'm not sure how this could be balanced, though, or how you could have these two phases co-exist.
