Spore

spore wont be moddable (im about 95 percent positive --- look at every other maxis game). so no spore game conversions or weird stuff.

but when i say moddable, i dont mean example adding ur on pics to items or own skins to certain things and other in game customizations.

fully customizable does not equal moddable.

anyone else agree with me here?

I would have to sauy I agree, also why would you want to put a mod on spore, it would just make it gay...

however, since most of the stuff is procedurally generated it would be a major pain in the ass to get around the insane amounts of that. It would be difficult aswell to make any Good custom content as the game does not use many stored graphics or other things. Sorry if that didn't make sense, I am really tired

look at oblivion... huge singeplayer game... they made it work with online!
look at GTA(san andreas or vice city, dunno)... they made it work with online!

So i myself think, if there is someone dedicated enough and wants it hard enough, it'll be possible to mod the game in such a way that it accepts online play!

truthfully told, the online game would suck because you know, everyone god and stuff... look at oblivion and gta, they are online playable due to mods but its soooo unfair, everyone using cheats and such...

just mentioning this stuff..

Playing along with a friend in a controlled game would be interesting. Just because both sides play 'God' doesn't necessarily mean it would suck. You and a friend could compete for dominance in creature, duel in RTS in city/civ, and compete for territory in the space phase.

Cheating is a different problem. My only solution? Filter them out. Don't use them. Don't make them. Yadda yadda. :P

I guess I'm biased because I love online play. Computer opponents don't really prove a good challenge at a certain degree. As my good friend Han Solo once said,

Firstly that thread is stupidly long, why do you even care if people are discussing this further anyway.

Maxis games not modable..................*looks at the Sims 2, then at SimCity4, then at the many edited XML files* Ok if you insist. admittedly it isn't the most mod friendly game out there, but I'm sure you could change some textures, some values of body/vehicle points, some of the speeds and destructions of weapons, so that basically all I'm happy with.

dont make me look bad, lol, im saying people who mod who 1. make it bad and 2. make it for purposes that harm gameplay. like i mean like having unlimited ammo or some shit in games, not for this.in my experience, people who mod suck and make it worse. but i do know there are good mods. it might be good to mod, but i stick by my words.
