Creatures... How Many?

Most of the threads in this forum are about what kind of creature you will make, or if the game will have a certain thing. This thread is to discuss the number of creatures.

First question: How many creatures will you make? And will some of them be similar, or will they all be totally different?

Next question: How many creatures do you think the game will let you make? And do you think there will be downloads or expansions to increase this number?

Last question: Will you work on each creature for a long time and through most of the phases (which means you would have less creatures, but better ones), or will you make a lot of cell phase creatures and then work on them all in small increments (which means you would have many creatures that wouldn't be very far in the game)?

I will make as many creatures as I see fit, but I will make my first my nurtured and important race.

I think the game will let you make as many creatures as your computer can handle, it's the same conversation about the planets. The developers would have to find a way to make the size of the creatures as small as possible.

I will play the game first as fast as possible, then slower as I get used to the game until I find a phase that I really like, and attempt to play that one as much as possible. You seem to think that all your creatures inhabit the same universe, but I don't think that is true.

  1. 1 or 2. Not a lot. Maybe more in the future
  2. Maybe 100 or more ! Who knows? *Remembers WW*
  3. The first option. But the first creature will be tutorial-ish, so I'll hurry in that one

My answers to the questions are as follows

1. I will make at least 10 creatures right from the start. I think that all of my creatures will be extremely different in every way.

2. I think the game will let you make 50 creatures (not too many, not too few ). If the game does limit the number of creatures you can make, I think that someone will definately make a download to increase the number, there might even be an expansion to do the same thing.

3. I think I will make a lot of creatures and then slowly make them all better.

By that I did not mean that all the creatures are on the same planet, or even the same universe. What I meant was that if you make a lot of creature profiles, you won't be able to play them all at the same time. Which would lead to creatures that weren't very or

Ah... We will just have to see how the developers have chosen to format the profiles then...

Why isn't anyone else posting here. This was the first thread that I made, but my second thread already has more posts. Come on, this is an interesting subject (I hope ), why won't anyone post.

Well, mainly befcause your question was answered. We really don't know. In my opinion there won't be a "limit" of creatures. It would just act like a saved game. Each creature would have its own planet, etc. However, i think there will be an ability to directly acess the Creature editor to design creatures as prey/predators for your planet.

Well then first of all, dont double post all the time... it bugs a lot of people i think...
Anyways, i would create detalied creatures and very detailed buildings and detailed vehicles and so on. I would then rush the stage until i could get to space to be very customizable and change stuff i guess.

I wondered though if you could change your civ after you reached the space stage. I would think so because you can alter the looks of regular creatures so why not your civilization?

If creatures compress down to 1kb then I guess the game limit could be enormous, it could be limited just by disk space available to the end user - you could wind up with millions of the things!

I don't know if how many creatures a person would make is an answerable question without having the game, that depends a lot on how long it takes to make a creature and that's totally open ended. For sure its one of those things that someone could run up something good in a very short space of time, equally you could probably spend hours trying to perfect a complex creature or get a specific look to something. The editor looks pretty simple to just make any sort of functional creature, you could make something really funky by accident for sure, but I bet if you wanted to make like say Godzilla, it could take quite a long time to get it to look just so.

Q1 lots. depends if I feel creative.
Q2 as many as you want. MS paint dosn't narrow the number of things you can make
Q3 long time through most phases
