Smaller creatures will probably be stealthier, while larger creatures would be slower/stronger possibly. You should try both, my suggestion.

If the stats of the creature are completely dependant on the parts you use then the creature may scale up depending. Sneaky/fast parts smaller creature, better/stronger parts bigger creature. makes sense to me.

There is also the agility/dexterity factor. If the weaker man can dodge all your attacks, but still land his, he will win.

Some Questions:
Can you actually control the size of the creature? Can you even make a epic or small creature or are you randomly scaled? If so that would sort of suck you plan on making a super predator and end up being 2 inches tall cuz its all random...

you want stealth because i have seen in a spore video a predator with a lot of stealth could be seen only when 2 feet away and that was close enough for the predator to kill the playing creature so if you have a bunch of little guys with a lot of stealth then they can live in harmony because no other creature can kill them because they can't see them

tiny is good because i think that tiny contributes to stealth(e.g. if you give a stealth generator to a huge creature it will give 10 stealth while when you give it to a smaller creature it will give 80 stealth) and i think the smaller the creature the more eggs it l;ays after one intercourse(for all the young people looking)

I believe that you will be able to determine the size of your creature in the editor. From what I've seen its based on the number of vertebrae the creature has and how much meat you put on that bone. The minimum creature size would be 1 vertebra with the least amount of flesh on it.

2 advantages i can think of off the top of my head.

1. if your small you don't need to eat enormous amounts by comparison to a large animal

2. small animals tend to have higher metabolisms, as in they use energy very quickly and can move quickly. ie in the age of the dinosaurs the giant herbivores moved slowly but the little mammals had a short quick lifecycle.

I mean, who wouldn't want a hamster that could eat an elephant?

Really? I've seen some vids of small arse creatures pimping big ones, but hoped it was just b/c they were way better evolved. If size makes no difference in this game it will be a HUGE disappointment. The impression I got was that the more mass your creature had the more expensive it would be, so you had to trade size for nice parts.

Oh, and one advantage to small creatures is, yeh, detection. And not just by predators, but in other people's galaxies If you make a small ferocious civ with super powerful little tanks and planes (mini nukes are still nukes ) then they might sneak up on other player characters without them noticing, and they will be harder to find. If you were looking to make an annoying race throughout the spore-verse then both small and large would have certain advantages.

As many people have said, smaller creatures are stealthier creatures.

Lots of people are wrong though to assume smaller means faster. Generaly the larger cratures can cover more ground faster because of their size.

So combat in creature mode, the larger the creature the stronger and faster it will most likely be, unless its super bulky.

What the smaller creature will have over the larger one in the creature stage is that it can hide very easily. So as long as they can remains hidden and slowly hunt larger predators, they will be able to survive.

Think about it though. A smaller creature will have a harder time becoming highly intelligent than a larger creature, but once they do they will have the advantage. Because once they get advanced enough to develope weaponry, they will have the advantage, because they will be able to have smaller, faster ships that are harder to hit, but still pack a pretty big punch. It will take longer for them to destroy their larger opponents weaponry, but as long as they are smaller and faster they should be able to out maneuver them and win a battle.

and if you got a hamster thing and covered it with eyes or mouths and so on it would be in larger packs.

i think that the smaller creature could not run faster than the big creature. longer legs.
i can run faster than a small dog so I'm sure something my size could easily catch and kill a hamster.

a vid with WW saying that adding weapons making them less social regardless the size.

i would prefer smaller creatures for couple reasons first they can be really cute when small second i actually thing that the bigger it is tend to get a bit more ugly to apearence which is why i actually wish i could maybe lose some hight to my rl body then be so tall and don't post about how no one cares on what i would like in rl i already know that most people wouldn't care its just posting to show that should also matter how you would go if the thing was reallife insted of just a game of if you would prefer bing bigger or smaller in it

Can you imagine how terrifying it would be to be attacked by a pack of hamsters with chainsaw hands? Worse than piranhas or ants.
