Here's my critter, along with a run-cycle
http://fc.deviantart.com/fs26/f/2008...adlight s.swf It is a Murr, named after it's murmur-like voice that it rarely raises. It is an herbivore. It uses the antlers on its head to ward off carnivores and skewer their (the predator's) egg, preventing future generations. Its long neck helps it graze on the highest leaves of the trees. The curved horns on it's shoulders are used to toss other Murrs to the ground during mate/border disputes, because of the scarcity of it's favorite plant in it's rocky, craggy habitat. They usually come out during the morning or on cloudy days, when their coloring provides the most camoflage. Its six legs provide it with unmatched speed and control, and its warm fur protects it from the harsh mountain winter. PS, sorry you have to click the link, but it's a .swf and the image tags aren't working. I hope that's alright! EDIT: Woo, I made another one ![]() ![]() The Caradine is a clever carnivore. Because of it's shell, it cannot move very fast, so it uses its shell to pretend to be a rock and strike by surprise; or use it's glowing marks to lure small creatures during the night. Meadows at night can often be seen with several glowing rocks, which are actually Caradines in disguise. No two Caradines have the same designs on their shells, which are very hard and defend them from most other predators. Last edited by DeerinHeadlights : 02-03-2008 at 11:38 AM. |

This is probably the best creature Ive come up with
Its called a Vipex and I drew it in paint The vipex is a carnivore that stands about ten feet high and can rear up to around 20 ft and can crouch stealthly to 3ft. To attack it crouches down and draws its head back behind its giant blades then springs very swiftly forward, impaling its prey and then eats it. It mostly preys on larger animals but if it is bothered by a smaller animal it can usually scare it away. ImageShack - Hosting :: vipexoa2.png

nice!
Did you model the robot in maya or 3dsMax? Zbrush? What is the poly count? Sorry for so many questions, but that is a really nice model! The texture is convincing too, looks like actual rust! Really nice job

I've got a Tablet PC. Gateway. It gets the job done. Oh! I also forgot to give him a name...any suggestions? If you have a story you want to slap on a creature, I'll take one of those too. I just can't be arsed to make one myself. |

Waggoth A small pig-sized creature that lives in the mountains. They hide in caves and attack by pouncing forward at their enemy. It is highly effective at catching prey as its long springy legs help it quickly move across the rough landscape. It feeds mainly on small insect-like creatures but will go for larger prey if in a pack. Huzzah !
