In answer to some of the posts here:
I consider Spore to be a game with large potential, if the game isn't already good... Then the thousands of Mods that will come up in no time will improve it beyond anything we could have imagined.

However, your correct, I do see so many flaws with this game. But that doesn't necessarily make it a "bad" game. For what they made, it's a perfectly enjoyable experience... Even when you are screaming at your planets as they fail to protect themselves, your "still having fun".
And when you break it down, that's the only thing that matters.

If you want to be pedantic and complain about features the game was never supposed to have, then join the other ranks of reviewers.

I gave it a 10 because dispite it's flaws, it is an amazingly fun game.
