LUMOS
the lumos could develop an organ that separates the sporoids from the rest of the body thus removing the death effect and allowing it to produce and support more. it could get larger and more social thus producing immense schools of lumos. along with that it could develop fleshy pads on it's back that are the equalivant of leaves for more concentrated photosynthesis. ALSO it could develop a bladder that contains hydrogen for removing itself from the ocean, danger, light filtering water, and getting closer to the sun, with that it could gain waxy 'skin' for retaining water and a water 'lung' for oxygen filtration while removed from the ocean. also a long retractable proboscis like a butterflies could be used to replenish the water lung so as not to return to the dangerous ocean for new water.

a second branch of lumos could be smaller and parasitic, develop an acid resistant exoskeleton/full-body-shell, it would have a long toothed spike at the end of it's 'head' (teeth point in one direction so as if jostled it only moves forward) that it would use to puncture through the stomachoid lining and enter the necros body, where it then breeds, feeds, and multiplies, eventually starving and/or tearing apart the predator by sheer numbers... much like a virus...(please tell me they all have open vascular systems!)
third branch! the lumos could produce colonies of thousand of bodies connected, lumos chains wriggling like worms, lumos rings pumping like jellyfish, lumos mats floating in special oil 'stains' on the ocean surface, they would be much too large to be filtered out of the water...
AS FOR THE NECROS
the necros as to deal with the dwindling numbers of lumos could move their mouth/gills forward and transform them into a pair of chelicerae
the little pincer mouth here so as to tear up the larger neons and not rely on filtering out lumos. they could become more streamlined and tuna-like having a tall thin tail for quick movement, and electrical sensory(their muscles and nerves work like fish right?) also heightened sense of smell(assuming they already have that)...
second branch could be a netting style in which they develop single joint('shoulder') 'arms' that produce silk nets to capture the scattered and few lumos and forcing them into the gill/mouths, the nets could connect all the way down the back of the gills, maybe second pair of arms under the gills so as to lengthen the nets... the necros could have a thicker more powerful body so that the nets drag doesn't effect its speed by much. these could travel in small schools, as that would allow them to collect lumos faster and more efficiently...
third branch, psychic necros.

fourth branch omgfun! since the necros don't rely on light for energy and thus don't travel to the surface, some could hang out at the bottom sifting out rotten stuff and acting like a bottom feeder...like a catfish, or crab or something i dunno... it could have cup-like gill/mouths that aim down and blow muck into the water for filtering, maybe some kind of rough crushing surface inside the gill for 'chewing' chunks, they could become larger, rounder, and slow.
NEON GEISTS
can't think of much for these guys...
the fin on their back could become specialized for photosynthesis by becoming opaque with chlorophyll(or whatever they use) longer and thinner(so as to create less drag and to be able to pop out of the water) and 'soft toothed' on the back so as to have less fin to feed while collecting about as much light. the males could specialize their second gills as strictly for sperm production and enlarge their first gills as to make up for gill loss. they could produce oily skin so that they can swim faster, also have float bladders so as not to struggle from sinking... they're at the top, not much need beyond reproduction for development...
NEON SPECTRUM
again, can't think of much at the moment...
they could move into shallow waters near the land and flatten out so as to have more surface area for light, travel into REALLY shallow water where there is no competition, and easily bury themselves in the nutrient rich sand. they could specialize their backs for photosynthesis and stretch their gills across their sides, thus taking in large amounts of water and nutrients...
second branch could become more torpedo-like in shape, with that top bone making a sharp point at the front, they could have oily skin for speed and float bladders so as not to struggle from sinking. they could be aggressive toward the geists and kill them by ramming and stabbing them to death, they could travel in schools as to defeat the geists in the area more easily. they could have a pad on their back specialized for photosynthesis.
