Some bad news and good news.
In a report posted by Gamasutra, Janco analyst Mike Hickey points out that recent EA share underperformance could be coming from various potential product delays. This also relates to Spore, Will Wright's latest game that allows players to create and manipulate various life forms as they grow and evolve. Anyhow, now it seems Spore's launch window might shift from March/April straight into the into the second half of 2008.
"Additional share pressure could be coming from potential high profile product delays including Spore," notes Hickey, "which we now expect in [the second half of 2008], versus management guidance for March/April."
Will Wright talked about Spore back in October: "We have the game fully playable at this point and it's in final testing."
Well, the testing is obviously taking quite a bit of time. But I guess that means they're giving it a decent polish. Sorry guys looks like end of the year fall/winter.
P.S don't flame not end of the world. Not A Lie Spore in Fall/Winter 2008?
