A GDC 05 VIDEO SUMMARY (see Videos)
"A view of the Solar System"
At 46 minutes into the video, he zooms out to the point at which you're viewing an entire solar system. There are a variety of other planets in which you can view their properties and take your UFO to investigate. There are also moons and a sun. Each planet has its own geography and atmosphere. He zooms up to a moon and with his UFO drops the creature he previously beamed up on the home planet. But the creature immediately explodes due to the different environment, because there is basically no atmosphere. So the goal is to make the world livable, and he fires a volcano "tool" several times which slowly begins to create an atmosphere.

Then he implements a small city encased in a glass bubble (as the planet is yet ready to sustain life). Then clouds and a storm begins to appear in the atmosphere and the terrain begins to slowly change to green, signifying life that evolves from having an atmosphere. He mentions you can also beam in plants and other things for the planet's biosphere

Highest Level
A few minutes later he demonstrates as you progress through the very highest level of the game, you earn an inner stellar drive. It features an array of other systems, black holes, super novas, different nebulas. At this stage you also have a SETI tool, in which you can hold your mouse over other systems and "hear" what's going on, and see if there's other
"Different Player Created Planet."
Intelligence. While he does this for one entity, he hears an alien language in which he zooms up to to investigate. He zooms up on the a specific planet within the system and gets up close to a city. He activates a tool to acquaint the alien species with our communication and the alien city reacts offensively, in which he activates the UFO's defensive systems. At close range his weapons appear to be ineffective so he zooms out to planet view and launches a "missile" of sorts directly at the planet and completely demolishes it.
"The Galaxy"
At 55 minutes into the video he mentions you can visit other solar systems, drop in life-forms and visit it later on in the future to see how the planet and creatures have evolved. You can also abduct other player's creatures and populate other planets with them. A couple minutes later he zooms out even further and we're shown the entire galaxy, in which there can be 10's of thousands of different worlds, all interlinked multiplayer-wise. He then mentions on the podium that one of the possibilities of the game is that you can go from bacteria to a "galactic god." In which you can replay the entire history of life.
Stunning Conclusion
The video is concluded with a final recap of everything and that is that! Sounds pretty awesome doesn't it? It's pretty inevitable that this game is going to be one of the biggest games if not the biggest game out there, once released. Once released, it will probably be viewed as this decade's "Doom". The manner in which you can write the history of an entire galaxy is simply amazing, and has obviously never been done before.

i'm sorry if this has been noticed, but In the video, after Will Wright made the valconoes on the planet, the atmosphere didn't cause rain, he used a Genasus Device. I'm not really sure where its from but, he used that to make it, he even said so in the vid

Im betting there probably will be a "star destroyer" of sorts. You can manipulate anything in the game why not stars too, plus that would be a pretty cool way of destroying a whole solar system. Maybe even a way to pump gasses into the star an expand it to consume multiple planets or turn the solar system into a heat scorched wasteland HAHAHAHAHA... That seems like a Will Wright type feature

Why wouldnt you be able to blow up stars? Easy way to destroy an empire rather than planet by planet. Nothin like a good o'l supernova to take out a solar system, and the black hole comes in to wipe out the survivors.
